All together now…

wall

For once in her life, the cat decided she didn’t want to be in the photo.

As you can probably see, decisions have been made, figures have been stitched into and the enlarged design printed off.

I’ve sampled different materials (centre above cat basket) and decided that printing onto abaca (tissutex) and then bonding onto strips of silk organza make good strong strips.

The small scale samples below are made from strips of printed vellum, shown flat in the previous posting but shown here forming a draped hanging which is closer to how I would like it to be, but life size!

So today I am ‘shopping’ for enough sheets of abaca/tissutex to print onto to make the full size figures seen above. I need to print the design four times so I can make enough strips to create the effect of movement as below.

  1. This is very exciting. Will the strips be printed on both sides? You could have the figure moving in the opposite direction depending on the angle of view. Hope that makes sense!

    1. What a great idea. Each strips is too translucent to be printed on the back but I can just make alternate strips with a reverse image! MMM - a lot to think about. Still trying to source some abac paper. Any ideas anyone? Sian

    2. If it is translucent then I suppose you will get the figure in reverse anyway!

  5. I went to Doll House to by a Sherri Hill dress 1403 for the best price quoted $450 for my daughter. I was told that Doll House has a registry and that I would be the only one wearing this style dress at my formal. When I arrived at my formal, there were two 2 other girls wearing exactly the same style dress and they also got it from dollhouse I can’t begin to tell you how angry and sick that made me feels. I will not be taking my daughter there for her year 12 formal.
